Bigger than Husband or Boyfriend

At my gym there seems to a majority of women that train hard compared to the men. For the most part, other than the male gym rats, the women are in better shape. Have any women become bigger and more muscular than their husbands? Is it all over or just certain body parts? What is the effect on your relationship?

I would never... well of course I could never, either. My husband is 6' and 220 pounds and STRONG. I'm 5'2 and 120 pounds. lol. Even if I could get better than him, he would hate it. Like..... hate.

This isn't about a wife being able to kick her husband's butt. Just curious if she has gotten bigger..I can see arms on women that are bigger and more defined than mine. It must feel amazing when she finds she is bigger or stronger than him.

    Hey OP

My wife picked up a heavy lifting program and now she's GIGANTIC.

    Big as a HOUSE.

    She's getting facial hair too.

I'm glad you mentioned body parts because there are certain*ahem* parts of her getting bigger as well.

    What can I do?

I am looking to eventually be fitness competition ready, I don't know if I will ever compete but it's my own goal to have that strength and physique. Hubby-to-be supports it but I can tell he feels a little weird about it, the thought of me being cut and not "soft" like a woman "should". I just find the muscular physique more appealing than the stick thin. I don't think I could ever get bigger than him (he used to body build back in the day) If he started lifting again I would have no opportunity to be stronger than him, but as he doesn't work out, if I continue to I might be able to be stronger than him for a bit! LOL

This is so rude, Sugar. You know I'm still as short as ever, and I take care of the facial hair regularly.

I'm sorry to air out our personal business on a public forum like this dear but the truth is when I say these things to you in private you hit me.

And the truth is I can no longer defend myself from your big bulky muscles.

I'm sorry about him OP, I usually keep him in the basement, but I had to let him out to go to work today, and I guess this is how he repays me...

Anyway, he's exageratting. I do not hit him because I can't reach him down in the basement, and my muscles are not too bulky. No not be dissuaded from lifting heavy! A lot of men just train at the same weights for years, so they don't increase their strength, but when I started lifting heavy, it didn't affect my relationship at all! :flowerforyou:

I would definitely date a girl who could; especially if she knows wrestling, judo or jiu jitsu. I would grab hold of her *kitten* just cause.

At my gym there are two very fit wives with above-average muscle mass whose husbands are very obese and just started training.

no, it's the other way around. he has a testosterone advantage

I've been working really hard to make my calves bigger, with my husband's help and encouragement (I fireman carry him and do calf raises, as part of this attempt)

............then he spends a little bit of time on a cardio machine and his calves are really big now  <-- jealous... .....it's muscle memory gains (he used to do bodybuilding and me being into fitness has made him get back into it) and I'm sure there's more where they came from and it's only a matter of time before he starts hitting the weights (he's currently having treatment for a lower back problem which is on the mend now)

on the other hand I'm not complaining about my husband getting big muscles... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Clicked on your profile expecting to see some jacked motha futha. Let's just say, this rules out at least 50% of females. Good luck to you.

i don't think he was taking the thread seriously...love your attitude though. A woman's confidence must go through the roof when they realize they have become stronger than their husband or most men in general.

Good Good Good - if you got better muscle than your dude then get out there and put them to good use. Help him chop a winters supply of wood, plough the fields, tote some bales of hay and milk all the cows by hand. Hey all that muscle is not just for show, it's also to endure hard physical labour for days on end. Just sayin....:laugh:

If my muscles are bigger than any man's, I'm pretty sure it's his problem, not mine. He has a HUGE natural advantage. If somehow I've busted my *kitten* and become bigger, it just means he's been REALLY lazy.

My husband and I are about the same height and weight. My *kitten* and thighs are bigger than his due FAT. I am female and carry more fat and in different places than men do. His muscles are most definitely bigger than mine.

That's my attitude to it as well!

The way I see it, with a lot of hard work a woman may get bigger and stronger than the average untrained male. However, if that male has an issue with it, he can go right ahead and sign up to the gym! He will seriously have no problem at all catching up and overtaking me! Unfair, but it's the facts. He has a huge hormonal advantage.

Would I like to be bigger or stronger than my boyfriend? No.

Would I like to be stronger than the average male (even those who train regularly?) Hell yes!!

I have no interest in becoming bigger than the average male (except for skinny, untrained ones) I want to build muscle, but not that much!

I'm small and muscular. However I've dated guys who were smaller than me. I've been athletic, and been with athletic people, for my entire dating life. It's a non-issue because my ego doesn't depend on being stronger, or on being weaker, than the man in my life.

You have a great attitude. I am sure many women though become motivated by the fact they are becoming more muscular than their husband/bf. I see it with co-workers wives that go back to the gym after the kids are older. They hit the gym everyday and have transformed themselves. Their husbands have no interest in training or do for a short while and then give up.

Strong, capable, fit are positive qualities. Can never be too much.
I admire people that can. And if the women in my life can out climb, out lift, out run or out swim me more power to them. Fit is sexy.

Kick my *kitten*? Welcome to try. I don't fight clean.
