no motivation

I have lost all motivation to try anymore. I originally lost over 35 pounds went from a size 14/16 to a size 6. I now weigh in at 138 and have been this way for almost 2 years. I would like to loose about 15 more lbs but I have lost all motivation to do anything about it.
I don't know what to do to get my motivation back everything i have been trying doesn't seem to work anymore.

The only way to get your motivation back is to just do it. I know it sounds simplistic...but it really is the only way. Do it, do it, do it again until your motivation returns. Shake up your routine - do things that you haven't before (heavy lifting?) - talk yourself into being motivated.
You can do this!0 -
Hey there!
I hear you about lacking motivation.
Do you have an upcoming event that you can excite yourself about to get you started with your motivation? You had it once, so you know you can do it again!
My goal was to be in better shape. I turned 50 last May - and that was my motivator. I lost 15lbs - over the year - and gained it all back (+ .6 more) .... so - in February this year I said that I have to get at it!!! Well, once again time is my motivator. May this year - another birthday - I may not have all the weight off - to reach my personal goal - but I'm going to take a good stab at it!
I started a 21 day challenge for myself - a couple of other people have joined - but the number (who have joined up) is not bothering me - I HAD to do it... (because of back issues since end of Jan) - my exercise dropped off to almost nothing.... this is a way to challenge myself.
Can you think of something... ? Just short term - ... to get your motivation back?

I guess the question becomes, why do you want to lose 15 more? Are you at a healthy weight? Just know that you have to get down to the nitty gritty about why you are "supposed" to do this. Are you doing it for you? For someone else? Motivation has to be more than, I want to be thin..... A short term goal is a great idea... Have you thought about doing like a 5k race in the future.... sometimes saying we are TRAINING for something is great motivation. I wish you the best and hope you can look deep inside to find what you are looking for. Try something new.... Zumba, Yoga, kickboxing....maybe you just need to find something you really love to do.... do that and the rest is HISTORY. :happy:0

Whenever I lose motivation about my weight loss, I think about my first ex wife (I won't name names.) She really left me in the lurch to be with her personal trainer, during a time when I had a problem with compulsive overeating. Just thinking of her makes me lose my appetite completely, and I use the anger to get me through my power walks. Usually by the time I get home, I've burned about 700 calories, but you have to remember to drink a lot of water to replenish what you lose when you cry. MFP recommends eight glasses a day but you have to add more for sweat or tears.
With love,

Instead of focusing on losing pounds or looking thin, try focusing simply on being fit and healthy. Do it for longevity, your kids (if you have or plan to have them) your loved ones, your career, your enjoyment of life, your emotional and mental health, whatever.
Step One - all you have to do is start walking and stop eating junk food. That's it! Baby steps.0 -

I agree with what you are saying! my motivation is feeling fit and fabulous... and I do want to get pounds off - but with healthy changes in my lifestyle... I am working on your "Step One" right now!0 -
You've done amazing so far and having kept of the original lose speaks volumes for what you must have learned. If you're ready to dig deep, I'll willing to try to help you get past the plataeu. You just need some accountability.0
