Eating enough calories when sick

I have finally succumbed to the family's cold, thought I had it beat but it hit! All I want to do is sleep and I started taking cold medicine this AM (was not going to let it stop my from my first 5K) so nothing tastes good. Plus the effort to get up and make food is just to daunting.'
Any suggestions on why you do to eat healthy and enough when you are sick?

Sorry to hear you are sick. Everyone around me seems to be getting sick and I feel like I'm almost waiting to catch it, haha.

Soup is an obvious choice for colds. If you are too tired to cook anything, than see if you can get someone to go out and buy you a low sodium canned soup. If you go for a creamy soup you'll get more calories. Instant oatmeal works good too, takes hardly any time to prepare and will get some cals and carbs in your body.

Soup, raw vegetables, fruit, meats, etc. and I don't bother logging.

Thanks for the replies. My husband and the kids have been staying away from me so they won't get it, I am going to send him off to the store though.

I hear your dilemma. I have been ill and I have had no energy. I am having a heck of a time eating enough calories. I am doing the best I can and without the exercise I guess it will even out
