I have been under a huge amount of stress lately, working 2 jobs as well as going to school and being homeless . I had all my PMS symptoms bloatings milk craving etc but it never showed. It is usually like clock work on the 1st of every month. I can't be pregnant, is it just stress related or would I need to get checked out?

It's probably due to stress.0

Have you had sex? Then you may be pregnant.0

It is possible - yes! I know the exact day and time of day that I'm going to get my period each month. It's always on schedule. One month *gasp* it wasn't. Of course, I freaked out, thought I was pregnant, all that. It ended up being a week late because of that extra stress. After that, it went back to normal.
No matter how organized and "on time" your period is normally, stress can REALLY change it. Then worrying about why it's late will just make it even later.

I missed 9 periods in a row in 2011 due to stress (No, I was not pregnant, though 9 months of missed periods is pretty terrifying...)0

Yeah it's totally possible.
Happens to me all the time, especially in same months as midterms or finals. I ALWAYS miss my period during those times.0 -
I've personally never missed a period but if you're 100% sure you're not pregnant, then it might be stress. I've had lighter periods due to stress but haven't completely missed a period because of it. I'd say that if you're super concerned, I would go get checked out.0

It's very possible to miss a cycle due to stress. I wouldn't worry about getting checked out since this is the first cycle you have missed and know you aren't pregnant. If you start skipping more cycles, you should see your doctor.0

That happened to me last summer. It came back the next month.Stress was the only thing I could figure for missing a period.0

It is definitely possible.0

Yes it is very possible. Missed periods can also be due to added exercise that your body is not used to (more walking, working out, etc.). Mine are always off, the only way I know when mine are coming is because the day before I start I get a menstrual migraine that lasts throughout the cycle. If you go more than 2-3 months without any then I would go see a doctor.0

Qualifications: Registered Nurse and experienced healthcare provider
If you have not had sex since the start of your last period - then no, you should not be pregant. If you have - whether protected by a condom, on birth control, whatever - GET A PREGNANCY TEST. This is not something you want to just chalk up to stress, if you are pregnant you need to find out as soon as possible and have time to think about your options and deal with the situation.0 -

Well, that pretty much answers the question then. Stress it is! Or working out to much and/or undereating - these can also be causes of missed periods.0
