Nausea after working out?

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this have any suggestions. I started doing elliptical cardio again, was looking for 5 times a week. I do about 15-30 minutes, just depending at a time. I have felt nauseated, wanting to throw up, kind of burpy (bleh) the past few weeks and I didn't know why. I figured it was maybe due to the lack of gallbladder and something making me sick. Then, I felt okay for a few days (realizing lateron these were the rest days I had) .. then I felt the same way again for a few days this week and started to notice it was the days I worked out, and happened afterwards and sometimes lingers into the next day. I worked out, showered, made dinner, ate..felt great!!! ..then. . about 45 mins later I wanted to throw up.

I did google and see there are people who are affected by this . .but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I was coming home from work, working out, showering, then making dinner and eating. Has anyone experiencing this same thing found that eating before working out would be better? Or doing it in the morning vs evening .. bah, I don't know . .it sucks .. it isn't going to deter me but it makes it a lot harder.

  • This sounds like you may have gotten exercised induced nausea. This is common for beginners or for those who have just gotten back into a routine and going at it hard. Doing a lot of bending or crunching, that causes your body to be in an awkward position. I wouldnt worry about this, it will go away within a few sessions. Just don't overdo it! Gradually get back into it

That's sorta what I had read, but wasn't sure if there was something I could do to help prevent it before hand. It makes me grumpy! :) I don't feel like i'm over doing it! .. but maybe I am. The machine does tend to indicate I should slow down often. Thanks!
  • Hey,

I dont think that the machine is having you slow down because of that. It probably doing that because you set it on a certain burning zone. Anyhow have some complex carbohydrates a few hours before exercising sometimes that helps. If you need some warm up exercises to add to your regimen, i have some free here
