No longer a lurker...My 2nd time back on MFP !

I was introduced to this site by my Ergonomics professor last summer when we did a study on diet and how it can affect ones work habits they in turn utilize the equipment in their work environment...I was looking to lose some weight anyway and he told us about how the app would count calories, has helpful tools to track progress, and a strong support network...I feel in love with it lol

I shop at Oriental markets and order foreign goods online and was astonished at the database on MFP and the list of foods! Very rarly do I find a food that isnt in the database here....pretty solid.

Like last time, I am going about this journey to lose weight by what I percieve to be closely modeled by the Okinawan diet....sweet potatoes, yellow and green veggies, fish, brown rice, and legumes...in order of consumption I eat seafood, poultry, beef, and pork..with pork being the least amount I consume.

I work as a housekeeper so I get a pretty good workout daily and I used to walk 2-3 miles a day before I took my current job.

Last time I lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks when I did the diet cold turkey...in 3 months time I ended up losing 40 lbs..my body really adapted to the diet well ... due to laziness I went back to my old ways and gained back 15 of those 40 pounds....Now that spring is here I wanna nip this weight gain in the bud!
