Resisting the urge to overindulge on rest days....

This is my weakness...I work so hard on the days that i workout, but when it comes to my rest day, I sometimes overindulge!!! I have been better about it lately, trying to keep busy so I don't do so, but it's still a challenge. I am all for having a treat or two on the weekends, but sometimes I feel like it's better to not have a cheat day at all because it just screws me up and I get off my cycle of healthy eating. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions?

I am right there with you! I stick to my allowable calories during the week, workout during the week, but during the weekends, not so much. I still follow my allowable calories, but I do not beat myself up if I DO have that ice cream. I know that I am no longer consumer 3000 calories a day because I am aware of what I am eating and how many calories I am consuming each day. The weekends while they are not a "free for all," they certainly are not as strict. I am, however, finding it more and more difficult to eat out at restaurants. Everything is so high in sodium content and calories, it's just not worth it anymore. I think that is how I put all my weight on. Eating out almost every night and not exercising. Well, that has changed. Not drastically, but I am slowly getting there.
I think "rest days" are allowable, as long as you don't overdo it. It's easy peasy to do, but I know I feel horrible about myself afterward. It's easy to put the weight on, but SO hard to take it off! :-)0 -
Yup, I have the same problem. So since I haven't met my goal yet (10 more LBS to go) I do not allow myself cheat days.... Not even on the weekend. I figure that once I hit my goal, I might allow myself a treat every now and then.....but I have worked so hard to get where I am at, I don't want to blow it and have to lose this weight again! Like they said, it packs on really easy and fast. But comes off so stinking hard!0

Last time I did this, I had a cheat day once a week. Now I have one everyother week, and by cheat day, I mean, I pick one thing I've been craving and have just that. This way, I don't overdo it, and sometimes come only slighty over my calories for the day.0
