B12 and Lipo shots

so I saw this add "It’s healthy to kick out excess fat cells, just like it’s healthy to kick out adult children who have asked for your blessing to marry the couch. Shed dead weight with this weight-loss program, staff members help patients shed unwanted pounds using an array of medical techniques, including setting a daily calorie intake and calculating BMI. After the initial visit, patients will return for weekly visits to be weighed have their blood pressure and pulse checked, and receive a B12 or lipo injection". This is for as many weeks as you want and it is reasonably priced. It's close to me and I'm seriously wondering if I should try it? I already get B12 monthly so I'd take the lipo injections. Anyone else ever heard of this?

I don't know how long you have been doing the B12 shots but I did a program like that years ago with a co-worker. We both experienced extreme loss of appetite, numbness in hands and feet, dizziness and other side effects. The clinic staff only cared about the money. When I tried to ask the 'doctor' about these things he just wanted to rush me out and evade my questions. I lost over 30 lbs really fast but like I said I had NO appetite. We both quit the program and gained the weight back really fast. I swore after that I would only lose weight the right way, by eating right and exercise. You are doing fine on your own and the key to healthy and forever weight loss is to retrain ourselves to the way we think about food so why not rely on your own strength, determination and willpower to change your life for the better and forever. I think you can do it without these drugs and you will be so proud of your hard work. Rely on yourself and see what happens first. Sorry for the length but passion took over.

I guess I did not state that I am taking the B12 shots for a deficiency not for weight loss. I've been doing this since September of 2012 per my medical doctor. So I havn't seen where the shots help me for weight loss at all so I'm going to try the Lipo injections and see what happens. Thanks for your reply.

Other than the B12 that you already get what would the advantage be over just setting a budget here and logging your calories? Do you really need to pay someone to tell you your BMI and how much to eat? The "In place of a roadmap" thread will walk you through all that information for free.

My friend did a similar thing. They charged her $800 to tell her she should avoid carbs! I told her I'd be happy to tell her that for only $500.

    Side Effects

Potential side effects include stomach upset and urinary problems due to the strain the injections place on the kidneys. Depression is another possible side effect. Online Health Care.com reports that some patients were unable to control their urine, and/or had diarrhea. Finally, some patients reported an pleasant odor.

    Exhaustion

Lipotropic injections change the function of the digestive system temporarily. This can result in extreme exhaustion, since the body is not used to working at this level and condition. Another major defect of these injections is that weight loss is very inconsistent. Some patients experienced having lost 12 lb. in one session, and five lb. the next. Over a three-month period of the treatment, there was extreme variation in weight loss in patients according to online testimonials and reports at a UK website called Body Creates.

    Pain

Unexplained pain in unrelated parts of the body is another potential side effect. Patients have complained of pain in the neck and parts of the hand. How these injections cause these pains is not clear. Some patients have also experienced joint pains and allergic reactions to the injections.

There's a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you. I guarantee that if you buy it you will surely loose weight.....

Can you find any scientific articles anywhere that would give any validity to these claims?? Why on earth would you allow a "doctor"
(your quotation marks not mine) to inject you with some unspecified substance to "kick out fat cells"" to make you lose weight. You already lost 30 pounds through diet and exercise so why not continue on the same program
