Has anyone had weight loss success after surgery for primary hyperthyroidism? I have trouble with insomnia, fatigue and lethargy. Most days, it's all I can do to go to work and home. Often, I'm ready to go to bed by the time I return home. I've had hypercalcemia for several years and elevated parathyroid hormone level. Until a couple of months ago it was mostly asymptomatic, now It's affecting my blood pressure and weight. I gained more than 40 pounds in less than a year.

That should be Primary hyperparathyroidism; that's what insomnia and brain fog will do to you.

Did you have surgery yet? From what I hear, HPT makes it harder to lose weight. So, my guess is that it should be easier after surgery, especially because your energy should come back.
