Heartburn - GERD

If anyone has had success getting rid of their heartburn as a benefit of losing weight, I would love to hear your story.
I have battled severe heartburn since I have gained 40 lbs in the last couple of years - I'm 51, 5'3" and 179 lbs.
My Dr. tells me if I can get about 40-50 lbs. off of my weight, my heartburn (GERD) will probably go away. Would like some
encouragement if you have any. Thanks people.

My heartburn has decreased significantly in both frequency and intensity and I've only lost 10 lbs so far (ignore my ticker it's not been updated). I'm 5' 7" female and 245 lbs now. It used to be a daily/nightly struggle now it's 3-4 days a week TOPS, and I don't feel like I'm going to barf after eating. So I can postulate that losing does help and that mine (and yours!) will most likely continue to improve.0
