Hello,
I thought I would take a wee minute to introduce myself. I've been hanging around the forums all week, reading people's posts, being enthused by their achievements, and learning things about this journey I am about to go on. I wanted to say hi and thanks to you all for being such a friendly, involved community!
I have been overweight my entire adult life, and after trying every gimmick, every fad, I finally found the NHS 12 week programme. It's based on calorie counting, and recommended this site as the one to use to help monitor those calories. My mum has used it before, and was really enthusiastic, too.
I thought, what could it hurt?
After putting on three stone due to medication changes, and already weighing in at 13 odd stone before that, I realised it was time to start losing weight for about a million reasons, but for once, 'for my health' was one I didn't just say to do lip service; I meant it. My knees are strained from carrying my 17st 5lb bulk, my arrythmia had started playing up again, and I felt defeated, demoralised and fatigued.
So I started using MFP, and I have absolutely loved it. I've lost 12lbs so far (7 since starting again last week) and I hope to continue on this path, learning about food choices and portion sizes, and learning from all you lovely people out there!
Here's to a successful journey to all of us!
