One last appeal for advice. I need to buy something tomorrow as I've been dithering for ages. I'm still confused about what to get. I'm a bit put off about how much equipment is needed to the Cathe stuff and the price of STS but I want something good that will help me lose fat ( I've only a small amount to lose) and tone up. Just can't make the decision.
HELP!!!!

I am sorry but I know absolutely NOTHING about any of these programs. If, however, you are willing to take recommendations of other programs, perhaps I can help? All I need to know is what type of equipment you have access to, how much floor space the room you plan on working out in has to move around, and what your goals are.
EDIT: Also, I personally have a dislike for home programs that make you buy TONS of equipment. I like to keep things simple0 -
I have adjustable wights and a space about 2x4 metres and a ball. I am within healthy wight range but want to lose fat to get rid of the fat in. My back/ torso and to tone up. I'm 47, 5ft 8 and weight 146 pounds. I'm female.0

Any problems pertaining to knee issues or anything like that?0 -

Given your situation and the equipment you have to work with the best programs I can recommend (assuming no real knee injuries) are GSP Rushfit and Supreme 90 Day Challenge. For Rushfit you would have to follow the Beginner schedule (there are three) to keep it low impact.0 -
Thanks. I've looked at both of those. Don't like kickboxing or too much boot camp type stiuff. What have you against the three programmes I've mentioned.0

There is only one kickboxing workout in Rushfit.
I have absolutely nothing against them really, although the only one I've actually heard of is Cathe STS, which I am not a fan of because of the high emphasis placed on isolation exercises. Isolation exercises are not nearly as beneficial as compound exercises. Regarding JNL Fusion, I don't know the workout program but I do know her. It's hard to say much about products branding her name because she went through a phase for about 2-3 years where she was basically selling the rights to her name for everything, just like Jillian Michaels is now. She even endorsed the Ab Circle Pro lol.0 -
Realised I got Rushfitchalean confused with something else. Ill have a look again thanks. Must admit I'm not keen on all the glamour aspect of the J L Fusion, nor the phrases she comes out with but I liked the workout. Is the Supreme 90'day challenge the one like P90x?0

It's similar but it has you using lighter weights and incorporating use of your balance ball. In my honest opinion it's a better program because both will change your body but Supreme 90 Day Challenge gives you results that translate more to real world results. P90X sacrificed a lot when they went with an exercise selection that allowed you to substitute bands in place of dumbbells.0 -
The thing about Rushfit is that the guy demoing the videos is a famous MMA fighter, so you go into it thinking it's a kickboxing workout. It's really not though. There is one kickboxing themed cardio DVD that they make you do once a week on the schedule (and the workout is only 30 min long), but aside from that the program is just regular circuit training with dumbbells and a heavy emphasis on core training.
Personally I like Rushfit because every workout is the same length: 10 minute warmup, 30 minute workout, 6 minute cooldown. Makes it really easy to schedule.0 -
Anyone else got any comments?0

YES!!! I do!! I haven't done the other 2 (I've done Cathe workouts, but not STS) But I started JNL on December 31st, and at 42 years old, I am the smallest I have EVER been! I did p90x for 4 months like they recommended for women...nothing. I've done Turbo fire, I ran for a year. You name it, i have done it and got NO WHERE! I used to get up at 3:30am every day and spend 2 hours in the gym. My diet is spot on too and has been for year. I finally resigned myself that this was my size, and that was it. I was a comfy 12 jean and XL shirt when i started. on a REALLY good day, i can squeeze into a 10...but it does NOT loo good and i would never leave the house. i Just slid on size 8's last week. I have never in my life been an 8. EVER! and I am wearing a medium shirt.
I will say-i do workouts a day-i'll do an upper and lower body weight workout on weight days, then do the 2 30 minute abd/cardio dvd's on the other. they are challenging but not REMOTELY as difficult as some of the other workouts i have done.
Yea...by the end of the first week, she was working my nerves. Luckily I read on another board, when the start menu pops up, you can choose the music louder option and drown her out. I would not have been able to handle her yapping and slogans much longer. They next move is always displayed on the bottom so you always know what you are doing. I have a mirror propped up on a side table against the wall when I am working out and have the tv on the side, so i know when the 30 second intervals are done. I focus on my form, high knees, and stuff like that. So i don;t really pay attention to whats on the screen. And when she pulls other people up to do the move, or is yapping, i just start jumping rope to keep my cardio going, I LOVE this workout. I can't say enough about it.0 -
Thanks. I've just been offered a discount code and there is a money back guarantee so I'm going to give it a go. Thanks.0

I'm new here, so don't know if this is the place to ask...I have just started JNL Fusion, how do I place it in my Exercise log? I don't know what to type in to search the database, as I am not finding it. How do I know how many calories I burn?
Thanks0 -
I'd do it as circuit training.0
