First, what should my heart range me? (35 year old male, 5-11, 295)

Second, what should my max rate be?

Third, HOW DO I USE THIS DARN THING?

Subtract 220 from your age = 185. That's your max heart rate. For a really good workout, I read you should be at around 70-85% of your max heart rate = 130-157. (The watch will also tell you once you enter in your stats).

So for the FT4, First, you have to enter in all the settings, date/time, your profile, weight, height. I happened to figure it out just by messing with the buttons (I hate directions). Once you're ready, get the strap really wet behind the heart monitor and put it on. Then press the start button. The watch will tell you once it detects your heartrate. Hit the start button again and it will start your workout. There are buttons to pause your work out or end it. And it stores the data so you won't lose it if you accidentally stop your workout and have to start it over. I did that today actually.

It's pretty easy once you get to know the 5 buttons and what they do.

Got it. How, after my workout, do I see how many calories I burned?

After you stop the workout. On my watch is the lower left button, you have to push it twice, once to pause, twice to stop. It will give you a summary. I think you press the lower right button it will go through everything.
