The Underwear Affair Vancouver 2013!!

Hi all.

As many of you know, last Thursday I lost a long-time friend. I first met Susan in October of 1993. For nearly twenty years she was an amazing friend, a confidante and an inspiration to me. On Thursday, March 7th she left us, succumbing to her 3½ year long battle with ovarian cancer.

On Saturday, July 6 I will be running 10KM in the Underwear Affair. It is a 5 km walk/10 km run/Scavenger Hunt to help raise money for the search for a cure for below-the-waist cancers and I will do it in honour of Susan, one of the most amazing women I've ever had the privilege to call my friend. I have registered a team called Tigers in her Tank. I think she would get a kick out of it. Each team member must raise a minimum of $300 but like any great team, once one person has made it to their goal, further donations can be pooled for people who have not yet made it to their $300 minimum.

If you live too far away to participate, please support me in my fundraising efforts if you can. Cancer is a horrible disease and I am going to do whatever I can to help stomp it out so that another does not have to die like she did...so that friends and loved ones will not have to suffer the loss that we did.

If you plan to be in Vancouver that weekend, you can also join us at the EXPOsed after party once the run/walk/scavenger hunt is finished, but you must be a registered guest so please let me know if you'd like to come. There will be music and dancing and laughter...and lots of new memories to be made. If you are unable to attend and unable to assist with fundraising, please send all the positive energy you can.
