Cranky!

I'm a binge eating junk food junkie. This is my first week eating more healthfully. Was super motivated and having no problem cutting down on calories and junk. Amazing what you see when you start logging!
But today I woke up cranky. So I allowed myself a Mcdonalds morning plain biscuit so as not to go completely cold turkey. Figured I could still work it into the calories. YES! I'm on 1200 but I'm only 5 feet 2 inches and the last few days I'd eat back my exercise calories. Today I was still able to have a great spinach salad with trimmings and a fajita wrap for dinner...
Well, no luck. I've been really cranky all day. And now it's night - I've hit my macros and my calories and I am still irritated. Went out for a walk and the whole time I wanted a cookie. I really don't want a cookie. But I do... Most of all I hate having this constant minute by minute discussion with myself regarding food. Support?

Going cold turkey off sugar and fat is like gong cold turkey on smoking.
It is going to be a ROUGH week.
My advice would be to get some fruit. That way you are getting that sugar intake, but it is natural.
Also, don't go out to eat at fast foods. Instead, make a breakfast sandwich at home. It will be a portion of the calories at McDonalds and more healthy.0 -
Hi, I struggle with the same thing!! I do well all day, stay really busy at work, but then in the evenings, I like to relax and snack a bit. I usually start by drinking some coffee with sugar-free creamer. Sometimes that works, sometimes not, which brings me to TONIGHT. I really wanted something else, so I got 2 rice cakes and put a little natural peanut butter and polaner all fruit spread with fiber. For now I am satisfied (PLUS LOTS OF WATER :-) Hope that helps. Sometimes I will make protein pudding with 1 scoop protein powder, 1.5 cups almond milk, and sugar-free pudding - makes 2 servings of 1 cup, or I'll break down and fix a protein shake of some sort. Hope that helps some, just know others feel the same way you do!!0

Good idea! I had thought that the biscuit was going to make me "less deprived" but I think it just further set me up for a bad day. So you are right. And yes I'll fill up on more fruits. I of course was grabbing straight for bananas. Better go to the store and get some lower glycemic fruits too. Ugh I LOVE/HATE sugar!0
