Deciphering the food journal/calorie info on "my home"

HELP!! I'm confused. According to my food journal, I've eaten over 1200 calories today (via food intake), but if I look at the info on the my home tab, it says I netted 730-something calories. So in cases like that do I need to eat enough extra calories to get myself over 1200 or do I go by what I've actually taken in, not what I've burned?

You should look at net calories and try to keep that number near your goal number (1200?).0
