First race after plantar faciitis - advice?

Last fall I suffered a pretty good case of PF in both feet, along with heel spurs. The PF seems to be better, but of course the spurs are still there. I also have Morton's in both feet, so I'm just a big mess
:)
Anyway, I'm a walker, and run very very little because of the Mortons (it seems to trigger it faster). This weekend I am doing my first 5K since the flare.
Any tips from seasoned folks on how to prevent a re-injury? I am also signed up for a 10K on July 4th.
Thanks!!

Hey,
The best thing to do is see you GP. Before booing an appointment ask if there is a GP with special interest in sports medicine. If not see any GP and if they can not help they may refer you to see a specialist in sports medicine or an orthropod for better advise. maybe you might need a special type of shoe or insole.0
