It's so wrong! LOSE WEIGHT!!!
Loose
1. free or released from fastening or attachment: a loose end.
2. free from anything that binds or restrains; unfettered: loose cats prowling around in alleyways at night.
3. uncombined, as a chemical element.
4. not bound together: to wear one's hair loose.
5. not put up in a package or other container: loose mushrooms.

That is all.

I didn't realize MFP was a grammar site. I guess I am here for the wrong reasons.0

That's not grammar, it's spelling and it isn't that hard.0

You didn't realise that a forum commands a reasonable grasp of the english language?0 -
Whew...I thought an entire day would go by and no one would point this out. Again.0

It's only spelling if you don't know how to spell it. I guarantee 90% of the people who make this mistake know how to spell it, just don't know how to properly use it. They end up using the wrong word. Grammar is the use of words by purposes of words, so when someone knows two spellings and doesn't know which definition goes to which, they are making a grammatical error by choosing the wrong word.
Not trying to start an debate. I was just clarifying why I said grammar0 -

I'm an English teacher. I have to drink before I venture into the forums. I try to convince my students that they will be taken more seriously if they learn spelling, punctuation and grammar.0

I'm locking this thread. This joke/comment/irritation has been posted several 1000s of times on the forums. You are not the first person to be irritated, nor will you be the last. People make mistakes. Some people are typing on phones or tablets that misread input. Some people do not speak English as well as others do. Some people's strong point are not spelling or grammar. Some people view a forum as a more colloquial setting, and dont put as much emphasis on rereading what they type. Some people are just lazy. Its all really irrelevant. There is even a specific rule in the guidelines about this. Please, just remember, its just a forum to share stories, ideas, inspiration, tips, and questions. No one is getting grading
