Around Christmastime I started doing some strength training with the 5lb free weights I have; my MIL had also given us her old 12lb weights, which were too heavy for me. I joined my gym the end of January, and almost immediately started strength training my upper body using weight machines. I pretty much stopped using the free weights at home…

Yesterday I was at the gym, and the machines were a bit congested, so while waiting for something to open up, I decided to grab some free weights and work on bicep curls… and I needed to use the 15lb weights. The 10 and 12 lbs were too light! I remember three months ago when I tried doing a set at home with the 12lbs barely being able to manage 4 reps… :)
