sodium

Im trying to eat healthy as possible to lose weight, but my healthy foods does not contain any/enough sodium. is that bad? what should i do?

    I believe the minimum recommended intake is something like 500 mg. It is important to have some sodium in your diet, but what you actually need is a very small number. If you are getting less than that and are worried, just add a pinch of salt to your dinner.

    The body does require some sodium, but don't worry if you're not hitting your daily goal. I rarely hit mine and it's never been an issue.

    Eat some cottage cheese and you'll get some. But yes, you do need sodium in your diet.

    AHA recommends no more that 2300mg a day. MFP has its default at 2500mg.

    I have mine set to 2000mg. This way I can strive for that, and if I go over a little, I can still moderate enough to stay under 2300mg

    Also, sodium is good to have. It is just something you have to moderate. But yes cottage cheese tends to have a good amount of sodium, plus other healthy fats and proteins.
