what different ipod apps have different people found usefull for running and cycling? I was looking at getting a garmin forerunner of some sort but figured if i can just get some sensors and an app to use with my ipod then i'll go that route instead. I just got some bluetooth headphones to try, they were normally 160 on for 30 in a clearance so figured why not try em and it got me to thinking about using the ipod as a fitness tracker.

Any and all apps and why you chose them over other ones appreciated as well as what you like/dont like about them.

Thanks

I use RunKeeper on my iPhone. I don't know if it works with an ipod because I don't know if the ipods have a built in GPS.

wahoo hrm and digifit app. wahoo makes other gadgets and digifit can import data from various devices (in-app purchase). Then link digifit and myfitnesspal. digifit keeps some detailed logs and also feeds the data into MFP.

For example, I do cardio with my HRM which connects via bluetooth to iphone to digifit app. When I finished cardio, that info is automatically uploaded to digifit and the calories burned are automatically recorded here on MFP.

I also have a Withings wifi scale that populates digifit automatically, which in turn updates MFP.

For my weight training I use an app called "FullFitness" but it doesn't link to MFP and I don't record calories burned from weights.
