Starting over is better than giving up completely!

Yes, it would be good to always eat healthy & exercise daily but this is the real world where life happens and not all things are going to go the way they should. So I am here to say - if you fall off (which you will), get back on and start again!!! I lost 25 lbs. & was doing great, life happened and 24 lbs. came back on. :-( I got back on yesterday and ready to conquer the weight again. The easy way out would be to give up and live unhealthy so KUDOS to everyone that gets up and gets back on track for a better US!!! ~:-D

Agreed! I was doing great throughout the month of January. I was working out 4-5 days a week and then I got comfortable gradually going back to my old eating habits, and not working out at all. I haven't been to the gym since January 28 and I found that the more I thought about how lazy I've been, the weaker my mind was becoming. But today especially after actively reading a couple of forums, I'm motivated again to watch my calorie intake and head to the gym. I look at it as a continuance verses starting over because I haven't gained ALL of my weight back. But you're right this is real life, some people get it the first time and others get it the 2nd 3rd or even100th time around, what's important is that you don't up on obtaining your weight loss goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Kudos!

Thank you soo much for this post.. This is exactly how I am feeling. I was doing so well losing at great pace very happy with my loss, and all of a sudden I became anxious and discouraged. And I'm trying to find my way back..

So so true! Lost 80 in 2007 and gained 55 back. Over the past year, thanks to MFP and the amazing people on here, I have now lost 50 and feeling better, fitter, healthier and smarter about fitness and nutrition than ever. We can do this! Never ever give up!

Exactly! I'm trying to change the way I look at it. I'm not starting over, but I am keeping going! Trying to get rid of the on/off mentality! Still working at it! Good luck as you keep on!:)
