So, I decided that I'm going to start training for a tough mudder to give me some motivation. But, I've never done one before. Any advice on training or what I should concentrate on (stamina vs. strength)

Personally, I'm working on stamina for the running - but the Tough Mudder website suggests that you should train for strength for the obstacles. They even have a training program: http://toughmudder.com/training-prep/0

There's a pretty good circuit on their site under training. There's no secret to it. Run and strength train. It's really a mind frame. There will be a time that your body starts to lock up and you have to stretch at every obstacle, but you just go on. You can run on rocky, rugged surfaces and take ice baths, but that's extreme. Part of the fun is not knowing what to expect. Good luck!0
