So the other week I got this low cal peanut butter called " Better n Peanut Butter" I was super excited because I absolutely love peanut butter but never ate is because of the calories. Well this stuff was only 100 cals for 2 tbsp. I wish i could have tried this before i bought it. The peanut butter is terrible! and at $7 a jar it was not worth it. Anyone have any low cal recipes that I can use this peanut butter in so that it will hide the taste a little bit?????? I hate to waste the whole jar.....

Oh and on my quest to find low cal peanut butter I hit a score. I got a sample of PB2 online and absolutely love the stuff! Wish i would have found this stuff first. lol

My kids like to make peanut butter cookies. Just a cup of peanut butter, a cup of sugar, and one egg. That's all. drop little blobs onto a cookie sheet and bake till they look done.
That should hide the taste and not waste it all.

That is, if you have someone else in the house who will eat cookies, so you don't end up eating them. Not a good idea if you live alone....
Or bring them to work and act like you were just being nice instead of trying to get rid of the stuff...lol
  • I bought the chocolate version of better'n peanut butter and absolutely love it. I like to eat it after a workout on wheat toast with banana slices! It doesn't taste like the melted chocolate chips in full fat peanut butter that I used to nosh on from time to time...but it hits the spot and it's so much healthier.

If the regular version is as terrible as you say it is, I'd recommend using it up in some non-bake cookies or maybe in pb&j sandwiches with lots of jelly hehe. My grandma used to mix peanut butter with a little cream cheese and use it as a dip for apples.

I used up the last of some peanut butter by making chocolate whey protein bars drizzled with peanut butter on top!

I'd advise against giving it to your dogs... large amounts of a higher fat food like PB can cause pancreatitis in dogs. I see it pretty frequently (I'm a vet).

This sounds really good, can you come back and tell me how much, how long, and what temperature? I suck at baking and have no idea....

I just experimented with my peanut butter sandwich today and it was really good ... I added 4oz of chicken with a sprinkle of chopped celery. It kinda reminded me of thai food as they always add chopped peanuts to their meats or offer peanut dipping sauces ... and it would probably taste more like thai if you curried the chicken and splashed a bit of lime juice.

Ooh, I have to try that tomorrow!

melt with an equal amount of chocolate, butter, a spoonful or two of honey and stir in oatmeal or rye flakes, spoon into mini cases and chill. in the very tiny muffin cases they work out to about 37 cal each.
