beach butt

Hi,
i'm new to these forums, so apologies if this is simply repeating another thread....
i'm off to cuba in two months, and a look at my butt in the mirror this morning has increased the pressure on me to work hard for the next couple of months to make it smaller and more toned in time for the beach.
i'm re-joining the gym this week, and am aiming for a 45-minute workout 3 times a week (more if i can), and planning on walking between 3.5-7 miles a day to/from work when i can make myself and it's not too cold / wet / windy.
i'd be grateful if anyone could advise on particular exercises that are good for butt-shrinkage? i'm planning on incline walking on the treadmill / jogging on an incline, but otherwise my usual routines are based around maybe the cross-trainer, situps and light free weights, and other of the weights machines, but the butt is the main issue for me at the moment and i'm determined to minimise it as much as possible!
i'm also planning a low calorie, low carb diet where possible. any motivational words, advice, ideas, would be greatly appreciated!
thanks, hannah

Exercises for the Butt (Glutes)
Squats. Bodyweight squats, dumbbell squats, barbell squats, split squats, etc. whatever is most convenient for you.
Kettlebell or Dumbbbell swings.
Deadlifts (stiff legged seem to engage my glutes more than any other deadlift).
Barbell Glute Bridge (I have a hard time with these myself, but my wife picked it up pretty fast)
Diet
I wouldn't go too low on the calories. Just shift more of your calories to protein sources with a slight reduction in carbs at first and play around with it gradually. Otherwise, your ability to build lean muscle in the butt will be compromised.0
