Logging unknown foods??

I'm going out tonight for a set menu dimsum meal with my bestie, I don't know what is on this set menu and the restaurant doesn't have any nutritional info online or list ingredients. Obviously I can try find generic values for something like 'steamed pork/chicken dumpling' etc, but is this worth doing if I have no idea if it's right?
How on earth do you log something like that, all tips welcome and hope this isn't a silly question

It's always worth logging everything, if you want consistent, predictable results. Record everything, even if you know it will be inaccurate. If you were to eat 'unknown' foods every day it could be a problem but this should be fine. Just try your best.0

^^ this. I find that making the effort is helpful, even if I may not be getting accurate numbers. I try to inflate it for things that look too small (like if the only dumpling I can find in the database is for a 3oz one and mine looks bigger I'll say I had 2 instead of 1, for example). I'd rather estimate high than under.0

I did think this would be a more sensible option, sometime I do like to double check my brain's choices. Thank you :flowerforyou:0
