Body Media Fit Link and music?

When I workout (run, elliptical, ect) , I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones I use with my iPhone 5 I am correctly thinking about getting the body media fit link. I cannot figure out if I will be able to use my headphones and the body media fit at the same time? Also, how do you see your heart rate with it? Is it through the app on your phone?
