Seeing as its butter it's prolly not the healthiest. What do the labels say?

As long as they're not loaded with trans fats...use them.

Butter is never the healthiest thing, but when used CORRECTLY they are a good way to cut down on the amount you use.

I always use them. They do not work well for cooking/sauteeing but they are fine on breads and stuff. I use a spray that is zero calories and a smart squeeze that is 5 calories (it taste a little more like butter). I highly recommend them. Just read the labels of the ones you are looking at to make sure you get the healthiest of them all.

If I remember correctly they are made mainly of polyglycerol esters which are used to replace cocoa butter in chocolates,
generally they are safe but I wouldn't take them.

I occasionally use a 1cal spray but only to stop things sticking. If its needed for cooking I use as little as possible olive oil or butter.

The 1 cal spray we have in the UK comes in many varieties (olive oile/sunflower oil etc) and it's too bad for cooking. It's also less than 1/10th of the calories of a tablespoon of normal olive oil

Just about any food in moderation and within your goals is fine for you. I use the sprays regularly and (gasp) even add real butter from time to time. I do note that I have read some studies suggesting that real butter (again, in moderation) is healthier for you than the oil-based margarines, etc. Also, the sprays do not have 0 calories, it's simply that the serving size is so small, that FDA regulations allow them to list it as zero since it's less than 5 calories per spray. So, if you're loading up (like 5-10 sprays), add a few calories for it. Enjoy!

I have been seeing a nutritionist and she recommended real butter as opposed to fake. Like you said, moderation. And the more real foods you eat the better for your body.

A GP has told us the same. The low fat spreads are full of chemicals, but butter is natural and its better to use a little butter, than more spread!
