Does anybody use this DVD by Jillian called "Shred it with Weights"? Do you use a kettlebell ? I know you can use a dumbbell as well.. Do you like the DVD? Have you gotten good results from it ? Would you recommend this for a beginner? Any other information on this or other suggestions would be great.. Thanks!

Yes - it's a kettlebell .... and oh yeah ... Jillian's form is truely horrible

Go with Bob Harper ... he actually learned how to use a kettlebell before coming out with a video.

I used a dumbbell, I liked it well enough, but I'd rather actually do heavy lifting instead of "cardio lifting", if that makes sense.

The form illustrated in the video is awful and will get you hurt if you try to apply it to heavier weights. The video is highly controversial and not recommended because of that. If you want to look into kettlebell workouts you will need a significantly heavier kettlebell (start with about 8kg for a woman at the lowest) and look into DVDs such as Skogg System or RKS or anything by Pavel Tsatsouline. Also, the youtube channel kitty8tim. But more importantly, get a certified instructor if you can to show you proper form for the basic exercises such as the swing.
