Did anyone mention Trilogy Of Terror yet? It was on TV in the 70's when I was a kid and gave me nightmares.
One of my favorite obscure TV movies. That little trollish voodoo doll was freaking terrifying.

    Loved the 70s.

Not sure if forgotten, but . . . The Great Escape

Not if you live in the UK.
It's on tv about three times a year.
    And every christmas.
Interesting to hear this. I can see why this movie would resonate so much in the UK.

So, another Steve McQueen: On Any Sunday. Anyone seen it?

Two come to my mind -

"The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" - I was quite young when I saw it, but I loved it's goofiness anyway.

"Big Trouble in Little China" - This one was a favorite of mine for two reasons; the monsters and Kim Cattrall.

Based on the brief description in IMDB, it sounds kind of familiar, but the photo isn't ringing a bell. There were a lot of great TV movies in the 70s, many of them scary. How about:

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane

I first saw it on TV, though it may have been a theatrical release. Martin Sheen was fabulous in the 70s, as was Jodie Foster.

ETA: "Little Girl' was a theatrical release.

    Great topic!

Does anyone remember "Night of the Comet?" That was probably the first sci-fi movie I watched when I was younger--wish I could find it to see again.
    psst..Netflix if you have it.
