Alcohol Calories

Hello all!

So I'm trying really hard to keep an honest diary by including calories from alcohol. However it's not the easiest thing to do, since the distributors are printing nutrition fact labels on the sides of the bottle. So, can anyone tell me how many calories are in Malibu Black Coconut Rum (different from normal Malibu), this one is 70 proof. I know the website database has one entry saying 51 calories for 1 ounce but I'm not sure that is right!

    A rule of thumb is to subtract 15 from the proof to get the calories for one ounce (70 - 15 = 55). It's approximate but it works for most brands, sounds like you are in the right range. Keep in mind that it is 7 calories per alcohol gram which is a sugar-carbohydrate.

    Of course they don't have Malibu black on that site, but great for future references!

    And I think I'll log it around 50-55 per shot.
