Adjusting Caloric intake

I think I have this right but want to run it by whom ever may view it.

I started out with a 1420 cal limit setting, most days I was just over 1200.

When I started I was not active, weight loss through diet alone. That worked fine for about 50 lbs.

Recently, I have started going to the gym, burning about 600 calories each visit, 6 days a week

I started out staying about the same 1200, so that my net calories intake per day was around 700, my weight loss has come to a screeching halt for several weeks now.

So I thought that by bumping my intake per day to between 1600 - 1800, that y net intake a day would be much better around 1200 AFTER my daily calorie burns.

Thoughts?

1200, or evn 1400 for a male seems very low.

    Have a read of this

  • What have you been doing for exercise? My trainer says that the exercise for weight loss is cardio; exercise that raises your heart rate. The annoying thing about this is that she always wants me to bump it up. I.e. I walk the mall. 4 rounds is 3 miles; she suggests short spurts, 1 minute to 30 second intervals, hard and fast speed and then back to fast. I shoot for speed and faster laps. I have a walking partner that helps me somewhat to be consistent. Weight training and floor exercise is good for toning, strength and other benefits. Muscle though it weighs more is smaller than fat. And I am not suggesting quitting that at all.

Hope this helps and congrats on your weight loss. Working at this is hard work but the pay off is well worth it. I speak from personal experience.
