No sleep some nights... to eat more or less?

This may be a dumb question (so im sorry in advance:)) but what happens to a persons TDEE THAT specific day IF say that person neve went to sleep.... to eat more ..or less?

I am asking this because there are some nights where I just dont sleep lol! The other day I worked on an essay for my university and I stayed up all night doing it. Then, after school that same day (after I hadnt slept), I had to go work at my job (bar and restaurant) as a server. I closed the bar at 2am that same day. So, does not sleeping mean that I should eat MORE or less? I know its bad for my health so does my metabolism slow down because my body is physically tired (yet I dont FEEL tired)? ..Its been almost 42 hours since Ive slept lol..Its 2:20am just got back from work and Im not tired :( i AM worried though because I ate a lottt way over my TDEE I think :|

p.s. if you need info to answer my question better: im 21 yr old female, 120 lbs. TDEE is 1700 (sedentary but m not sedentary really)

Thank you guys!!! :)

24 hours is 24 hours whether you sleep or not.

The body doesn't really care, but it might be easier for you to keep track if you count midnight to midnight. I do this because I work 3rd shift. As long as your total is good for the week you should be able to eat on whatever schedule you need to.

You will burn a negligible amount more awake than if you were sleeping. Maybe 10-15 calories an hour, maybe even less. If you're really stressed about it, have a couple peanuts or peppermints at the bar and call it even.

TDEE is higher if you do not sleep and carry out an activity like serving. You are certainly not sedentary if your job is working in a restaurant.

Eat at a fixed level, evaluate your loss and up your calories to a real TDEE from your experience. I'm willing to bet it is actually higher than 1700. And at 120 lbs - do you really want to lose?

Finally, get your sleep - it is so unhealthy in so many ways to not get a regular amount of sleep.

as others have said, yeah 24 hours is 24 hours. I used to swing up 24 hours often and simply started my calories over at my normal sleep time. Doesn't feel right but then starving your body isn't healthy either so I try and eat. Don't force yourself if not too hungery but def don't go more than 5 hours without calories.
