My half marathon is on Saturday. It's my first. It's going to rain and be about 55 degrees the whole time. Anyone have tips on how best to comfortably run in those conditions? I'm going to run out today I think and buy an athletic rain jacket (my only rain coat is a trench!)

If you are running hard you won't need the jacket. You will be plenty warm. You just need something to keep you relatively dry and warm before the race starts.

Congrats on your first half! Rain jacket would be great and also wear a hat. For me, nothing is worse than rain pelting me in the face. At least a hat will keep it out of your eyes, etc.

Ooh the hat is a good idea!

Yah I was wondering if the jacket would be too hot...sometimes they are so plasticy!! But since I'm not very fast (looking to finish 11:30 pace) I'm worried that the 2+ hours in the rain in a tank will mess with my body heat without it... REALLY wish I had trained for this instead of wimping out onto the treadmill when it rained haha....

You could start with the jacket and if it gets too hot take it off and tie it around your waist.
