Hello everyone! I am new here. I just joined yesterday, and I thought I would come over to the message boards and introduce myself. :-)
I am CraftyGirl4 - so named because I love all things crafty and handmade. I make myown greeting cards and envelopes at the moment, and I am working on getting into sewing soon. I looked at a $700 sewing machine that I want, and I am waiting on my tax returns to get here so I can actually purchase it. I also want to learn to embroider. I've tried other crafts including making my own bath/body products (I can make chapstick, salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, bath "bombs" and so on), basketweaving (yeah...how many people have you heard of trying that?), making my own magnets and some jewlery making.
I work for a dessert company in the Quality Control department, and I absolutely love my job. I'm usually pretty good about not eating the desserts when I am at work. We do have a product review session everyday, and sometimes it is tough not to taste something if it's one of my favorites. Most the time my duties include managing the staff of about 20 we have out on the floor in two different plants and problem solving. I also go to a lot of meetings (whether they are useful or not...sometimes I'm not sure). :-)
I have a degree in Nutrition. I received that last May. I also have two culinary degrees, so I love to cook and love to cook healthy foods. I try to get my boyfriend to eat tofu all the time, and I think he is coming around! I sneak it into things like smoothies and tacos. I decided to join this site to see how easy it is to use. A lot of people come to me to ask questions about diet and things like that, and I can give advice but I don't know where to go to tell them to track their diet. I like this site because it really shows you a good breakdown of the calories and other things that you need to be concerned about, and if you need to talk to a nutritionist, you can easily print your diet record out and hand it directly to them.
I'm excited to try this site out and see how it goes! If you have any questions about me or anything like that, please, feel free to ask!
