sugar

Hi all. I recently started looking at my sugar intake and it's not good. While I have had success at losing weight....it's still important to watch that number. I have entered all of my food for the day (unless I snack at some point after dinner) and I am over my goal on sugar. Part of what cuts into my number is from fruit. My question is...what is acceptable? Is it ok as long as it's not "added sugar". I think I warned someone about snack bars due to sugar and here I am eating these fruit and yogurt bars that have 11 grams. Sheesh. Just curious about the fruit though. Feel free to take a look at my diary. Thanks all.

I asked just the same thing about 5 minutes ago.
I've had a little bit of fresh smoothie and eaten 3 pieces of fruit today and my sugar is way over what it apparently should be. I know MFP can be a bit militant about some things though - such as protein - so I'm hoping to be reassured that this is OK!0 -
There's nothing wrong with sugar, unless you have a medical condition that dictates otherwise. This applies to all forms of sugar even HFCS.

As long as you're not over your carb intake you ok.
Unless of course you have a medical reason to track your sugar feel free to ignore it.0 -
Thank you for the information. And I love a good smoothie0

I've discovered this Smoothie by Naked called 'Green Machine'. It is the most revolting sludge colour, but omg it's SO GOOD. I had it the first time out for dinner with friends; my meal was amazing but the smoothie was the highlight.
Totally jonesin' for one now!0 -
M husband and I had the brilliant idea of buying fruit in bulk and freezing it. We thought we could just thaw the fruit and eat it like we just brought it home from the store. We quickly learned this is not the case. Needless to say we will be having a lot of smoothies, banana bread, and strawberry pie.:laugh:0

I purchases lots fruits during their peak season or pick my own and freezes them. Then I use them during the winter time for smoothies. They are great and I add flaxseeds for my Omega 3 and almond they are good.
Oh! Thank you for asking about the sugar, I was wondering about that and was afraid to eat too many fruits.0
