eating/burning

Hello All,
I was just wonderng , is their a rule with eating and burning calories?
I mean is there a time frame you need to follow or what not ?
If I Didnt work out one day but did the next, does that matter?
Or does it have to be every single day after all your eating is done for the day then work out, burn whatever, and start again the next day? ...
I may sound like an idiot, But I am still new and learning.

You eat when you eat and workout when you work out. It's not like your workout is burning the specific calories you just consumed or anything.0

When you eat vs. when you exercise isn't important, as long as you're not making yourself sick or anything. You want everything to balance over a few days, generally.
Your two main options:
1) Figure out what you burn on average, and eat the same amount every day. In MFP, this is what you get if you set your activity level, or if you're calculating it on your own what you'll see people calling TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). If you do this, don't log your exercise unless you go way above and beyond what you do normally.
2) Figure out what you burn just basically existing, and eat more on days you work out. In MFP, you do this by setting your activity level to sedentary and then logging your exercise.
Either one should come out to the same amount of calories eaten/burned over a week, it just comes down to what works for you.0 -

You are talking about the method, which doesn't matter. The things you chose to eat or not eat, do or not do don't matter as long as
a) your total calories are where they should be based on your goals
b) you're getting enough fats
c) you're getting enough protein
Whole foods vs processed foods, lifting vs cardio, 2 meals per day vs 6... doesn't matter. That's all about personal preference - what you can stick to and what makes you feel the best.0 -

Okay, I understand a little better,
I thought if you didnt work out for a day, you would gain mega over the next few days,
somedays I only work out 2 times a week,
Just depends on my schedule, so I wasnt sure what happens when I eat my fulll daily calorie intake, and then dont work out.
