Question about home made snack mix

I have been making a grab and go snack mix but not sure how healthy it is or how many calories I am consuming. I put in a few almonds, cashew and dark chocolate M&M's along with bunches of cheerios, raisins and dried cranberries. I also added some chocolate Cheerios last time. I usually have 1/2 cup to 3/4 cups for a snack or breakfast. Anybody have a better idea?

I get a trail mix at trader joes that has dried cranberries, golden raisins, peanuts, almonds, few kinds of chocolate chips, and I think thats it... for 1/4 of a cup its 150 calories, the nuts make the calorie count pretty high. Sounds like a yummy mix!

Maybe try adding everything you put into your snack mix into your foods and save as a meal. Then just adjust your portions to what you actually consumed. That way you will know what your calorie intake is. Then compare to other snack mixes on the food finder.

Next time I make it I will try to measure the things I put in it keeping the nuts to a minimum. I figured it was pretty high in calories but I like having a quick snack on hand. Thanks for the info.0

Thanks, I will try that. I'm kinda new to the site so I'm still learning.0
