Never get sick cake? Dr Oz? Seems legit.0
-
Dr Oz - already suspicious.
read ingredients. WELL... I can pretty much guarantee that cake would MAKE ME sick. It sounds yucky.0 -
Not sure what is making me feel more ill. The ingredients, or the name of this joke of a "cake".0
-
Ohhh this one used to be called the "Adults Who Trick Themselves Into Eating Their Vegetables" cake!0
-
I stopped reading after Dr. Oz....0
-
That looks pretty good to me. I wish somebody would try it and tell me if it was good.0
-
If you really need to hide your veggies, you may need to have something checked.0
-
Do you want to know if it tastes good or if will prevent you from getting sick?
NVM. The answer to both is NO.0 -

I eat all that stuff now.
I still get sick on occasion.0 -
Heres a poem in honor of Dr. Oz somebody on MFP wrote
Dr Oz you make me tired,
You talk and talk and it all seems dire.
What should we eat to make us lean?
Very little it seems, unless it is steamed.
I'm happy to see you are healthy and thin.
As if we don't notice you tell us again (and again).
There are some things I can't help but see,
your follower Oprah is not a size 3!
She looks pretty good (to me at least),
however I'm sure she still eats bread made with yeast.
Does that make you unhappy,
I bet it is so.
But then again you still make the big dough...
Here is what I hope for you doctor my dear,
I hope you never have to shed any tears.
It's not easy being big and loving to eat,
don't even think about anything sweet.
We are who we are and we and we'll carry on all,
with counting and sweating and trying not to fall
Off the wagon that bumps down the road we all take
While your talking and talking and making us shake
Our resolve is strong and so are we
So a wizard to us you may not be...0 -
Why is this cake supposed to stop you getting sick? Anyone know? I guess it has some fibre so might be good if you need to poop. Any vitamin C would be lost with cooking it. Guess you get in some veggies. Dr Oz will say anything it seems to make money. It's just food. Eat your veggies, eat everything. Nothing is dangerous unless you overdo it then you don't have to listen to quacks like him.0

I doubt it would stop you from getting sick, but it looks tasty. I regularly make zucchini cake and chocolate beet cake and carrot cake, plus use dates to sweeten muffins so the ingredients don't scare me. I'm pretty sure it'll taste really good, lots of chocolate taste and very moist. I'll try it this weekend and let you know. But I'm not much for icing, so that might not be part of the deal.0

Make regular cake, eat a smaller portion. Get enough sleep, wash your hands after you poop, and accept the fact that some times you may get sick no matter what you do.0

Lost me at Dr. Oz. You know, he makes me like "The Whole Nine Yards" less, because the character is named Oz.0

I would try this instead:
5 Layer Dessert Recipe:
1 box devil’s food cake mix
1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1 cup water
4 cups fat-free ricotta
1 cup coconut milk, well stirred
1 cup shredded, toasted sweetened coconut
4 tablespoons agave syrup
1/2 cup toasted oats
1/2 cup ground flaxseeds or flaxseed meal
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts, lightly toasted if desired
4 cups total of any combination of fresh well-washed berries (strawberries, hulled and halved, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, for shaving
Note: Ingredient quantities depend on size of pan. This recipe is for a 9-inch trifle dessert pan. Preheat oven to 350° F degrees.
Directions:
Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans with nonstick spray or butter and lightly flour each pan.
(Layer 1) In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the cake mix, yogurt, and water and mix well until no lumps remain. Divide batter evenly into prepared cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake emerges cleanly. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans.
Meanwhile, in a medium mixing bowl, mix the ricotta, coconut milk, shredded coconut and agave. With a rubber spatula, gently fold them together to fully combine. Remove the cake from its pan and place in desired glass dish with high sides. Evenly spread half of the whipped topping mixture on top of the cake (Layer 2).
In a large resealable bag, combine the oats, flaxseeds and walnuts. Seal the bag and shake well. Sprinkle half of the mixture evenly over the ricotta (Layer 3), then top with the berries to cover the whole cake surface (Layer 4).
Repeat all 4 layers with the other half of the ingredients. Using a vegetable peeler, shave the bittersweet chocolate decoratively over the top (Layer 5). Serve dessert by scooping portions of the cake and all its layers into shallow bowls.0 -
Never heard of this before. I'm going to try it this weekend. Actually sounds really good.0

This is a link to the recipe. Interesting that it does not give the nutrition data. Supposed to boost immunity. It sounds like an enormous amount of work and calories. I wonder what the recommendation is for how often one should eat this cake to stay healthy.0 -

Thank you :laugh:0 -
Fail. I get sick when I see or hear mention of Dr. Oz.0

This cake is delicious! Everyone who is saying negative comments and hasn't even TRIED THE CAKE is an idiot.. Seriously.. So to the original poster of the question, it is delicious, satisfying & doesn't weigh you down or make you feel bad/crashing from a sugar high! Please try it, you won't regret it.0
-
Also.. This isn't a Dr. Oz cake it is from Dr. Joel Fuhrman! Look him up. I agree sometimes I feel like Dr. Oz contradicts himself or is trying to sell things. But this is actually good and it had over 8 grams of protein and fiber and all natural sugar. Just saying..0

Dr Oz - already suspicious.
