Can You Modify A Recipe Without Losing the Old One?

I was wanting to create a different flavor smoothie and could modify my old recipe instead of starting over, but I don't want to lose my old one. Is this possible by just changing the name? Something tells me I'll lose the old one. : (

sometimes you can keep it the same but healthier but some times you loose the old one.
