Anything that you've been missing? I didn't think that I was depriving myself...and then last night I was in my pantry, saw a few boxes of macaroni and realized that I am desperately craving pasta!!

I think that it is Great that you have this topic. I have been living the healthy life style now for a year and half. I still miss eating alot of foods. Now, what is so strang is when I do that food doesn't tast as good as I remember. Yet some taste even better. Like a double edged sword right. A example of a food I loved and now tastes bad is Crunchy Cheetoes, a example of what tastes better is a Sonic Hambugar.
OK to the point what I am missing today..... Deep Fried Pickels and Ranch Dressing dipping sauce. Good thing where I live you have to make these your self to get them.

I can say with 100% honesty that I don't miss anything. I eat about 90% of the same types of food that I ate prior to making my lifestyle change. I just eat the food more responsibly with controlled portions and smarter combinations. I was never a fan of a lot of the foods that others consider weaknesses: things like doughnuts, candy, chips, pop/soda, french fries, etc. Before, I ate them when they were around because I didn't want to miss out. Now I have no problem happily saying no thank you.

I seem to have changed my mindset towards healthier food and portion sizes. I steer clear of foods I used to overeat, but if I want it, I still eat it in a portion-controlled way. Grocery shopping with me gets pretty annoying I'm told -- 2/3 of my cart is veggies and fruit, with the remainder being protein, seeds, nuts, dairy, whole wheat pasta, and non-food products. I can't tell you the last time I purchased a chocolate bar, bag of chips, or doughnut.

I can't say that I miss anything. Now I also can't say that I eat all of the same foods. Some of the food I used to eat is way too salty or sweet to me now. I eat so much more flavorful food since this change.

Just the other day I had about 300 calories left over. I made my husband go and get me a dark chocolate snickers candy bar. I enjoyed the heck out of it! Now, it wasn't gone in 5 bites like I used to do. I took my time and savored each small bite thinking about all of the flavors in this delicious bar of goodness. Now do I do this all of the time? No. I have one maybe once a month or once every other month.

Oh, and fried pickles are AWESOME! I had some a couple of weeks ago at a restaurant. Only ate 2 though. It is all I wanted because I had more delicious food coming with my main course. I don't eat near as much as I used to. If I did, I might explode. And no one likes that feeling.

My fiance and I were having this discussion the other day. Although I technically *could* eat these things if I wanted (some of which are extraordinarily healthy), I have trouble fitting them into my calorie allowance and/or macros, so they're usually axed out:

    Ice cream
Cereal (doesn't keep me full enough for the amount of calories it is)
Sweet potato (Still have on occasion - but I really have to work it in)
    REAL bread
    Granola in my yogurt
    Glass of milk with dinner
Grape juice (the thought of this made my mouth water)
    Unlimited fruit
    Pasta
    Pizza

<3 Carbs - I still eat 35%, but if I didn't watch them 80% of my diet would come from them.

    THIS ^
As much as I feel great getting in a good workout, I do miss just sleeping in the mornings until the last second before having to get ready for work.

I just transitioned from Weight Watchers Points Plus to calorie counting because I wasn't losing, and it's been really hard for me to limit my fruits. Over two fruit servings a day doesn't work for me...

I miss having as much coffee as I wanted, anytime. The problem is that I like my coffee rich and sweet, so I could easily have 3-4 Tbsp of International Delight in one serving. Twice a day, and that's about 50 grams of sugar! No thanks!

Lastly, I miss not having to worry about eating out or at a friend's house because I don't know the nutritional facts of the food. ): I'm new to this and while I have a pretty good idea of how many calories something might be, sometimes there are those sneaky deceptively "good for you" foods!
