I have finally made the switch from Livestrong to myfitnesspal. I am Jeff and I am really loving this site. I am still getting use to it but I have found my drive and determination I feel like I have lost along the way. Thanks and I'll see you around.

Hey there... I remember you from that site! I switched when it became livestrong and got really really really slow and you had to navigate through all the corporate crap I didn't care about! I love this site. Welcome!

    Hi Jeff,

Welcome! What is that you like better about MFP?

I also made the same switch!

    1) MFP gives more "fraction" options for serving size
    2) Livestrong does not allow you to see a summary of your Macros (carbs/proteins/fats) on the iPhone
  • When Livestrong was "the daily plate" it seemed like a tight knit community, once Livestrong took over it just seemed more a corporate owned site. It has become impossible to edit foods and you have to provide links and all this other stuff. The customer service there started acting like it was their site and you were a guest. My friend came over here and told me about it but I dragged my feet, I didn't realize how unhappy I was but kept doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Of coarse I post this on the day I put 1.5 pounds back on but I have been tempted by some old bad habits and have lost.lol.

I'm the friend that brought Madcat here :)
Llivestrong has WAY too many glitches. It constantly logs me off and I have to log back in. And that's just the beginning. Many, many glitches and banana errors (if you came from there you know what I mean!). and I dont like the commercialism of it either.
I do like that Livestrong has groups so I still check in with my groups there. the support in groups is wonderful. But that's all I do on the LS site. I wish MFP would create groups :) (hint hint)
  • I didn't want to be a name dropper

    Banana errors!
  • i saw that site first thought it was great. but i didnt join it. then i found this site the next day when i was cooking trying to figure what calories the food i ate and... this was one of them and i was like awesome :D then i click home read more about it. and i joined just like that :) i thought this is mooooore better and actually much more simple and easy to do :)

keep strong and never to give up :)

  • I use a food scale and so the 100g option is awesome for me.

Me too. I love my food scale and use grams as often as possible.

That is the ONE thing I miss from TDP aka LS...the groups. I miiss them a lot. Not really liking the forum thing as much but the good outweight the bad by far on this site, so its okay!
  • I mean it this time.    :blushing:
  • Welcome madcat! I'm new here too but loving it. My favorite thing is that I can input on the computer or my iphone and it syncs automatically! Plus having it both places just seems to keep me more on track.
