UltraMetabolism by Dr. Mark Hyman

Has anyone read this book and compared it to other food plans? I searched the forums and came up with two people recommending the book, two people who said the food plan worked for them, and no other information. I'm not looking for a diet in terms of "diet to lose weight," I'm looking for diet as in a way of eating with guidelines for ensuring optimum nutrition and health.
I'm not ready to go vegetarian, raw, vegan, or paleo. I want a food plan that will help me get good foods into my diet, get the processed foods out, and is more in depth than simply counting calories and macronutrients.
If you've read this book, please give me your honest opinion on Dr. Hyman's viewpoint. How does it differ from others? Was there anything in his book that you felt was alarming or incorrect?
Thanks for your help!
