Hey everyone!
If someone has already posted on here about this please ignore but I have to song the praises of parkrun!
For those doing c25k or any other running programme, parkrun is what you need!
I'd not run since high school when I ran my first parkrun and although it hurt like mad I have the bug! I've done more than 30 now and my time has dropped from 40:19 to 28:44!
There are literally hundreds around the UK and several international ones. You sign up at parkrun.org.uk
- it's free to join - and you get your own personal barcode which you can take to any parkrun anywhere! They are always on a Saturday morning at 9am and there's a wonderful mix of people taking part. I've made loads of new friends, some of whom are top runners but who like the social side and amble alongside me for a chat.
It might look like a race and I suppose it is but the only thing you should test is yourself against the clock. I'll never win the thing but there's always a benchmark ahead, and that spurs me on.
Honestly, if you've never done it before please try. I promise you won't regret it!
