Hip Hop Abs -- Doing it wrong?

Hi there!

I'm currently using a few different DVDs at home. One is Hip Hop Abs. I like it, and I feel like the cardio is good, but I just can't get my abs to burn. I'm starting to feel like i'm doing something wrong. I did the Full Body Burn DVD today and yesterday, and my legs and arms were burning pretty good, but nothing with the abs. I am trying so hard to use Tilt, Tuck and Tighten, but it just doesn't seem to be working for me.

Has anyone else had this problem? Did you eventually get it right? Like I said, the videos are still good for cardo, so all is not lost, but I would like to work on my abs at the same time.

I haven't done the DVD yet, but have you tried holding in your abs while you're doing every move? That can create a burn even if you're not doing ab-centric exercises. Just never let that core go
  • Yeah, I try hard to keep my abs tight, and sometimes I even succeed. It gets really discouraging though when you are trying your hardest to get some kind of burn feeling and you're not getting it. I just can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

I did it today and I too have NO burn in the abs. I held my "core" as tight as I could. I felt uncoordinated doing the moves with the tilt thing but I tried anyways. My legs are sore (I find that odd since I did not burn that much and I do Zumba daily)..going to give one of the other dvd's a try as I do not feel this one was enough.
