I saw a homemade recipe for onion rings which used FIBRE ONE cereal as the 'breading'...where has it gone? I explained it to my friend and she is expecting it for dinner tomorrow night, so your help is appreciated!!!

    Here you go

1/4 cup Fiber One original cereal
    1/4 cup Egg Beaters original
    1/2 of a large onion

    Preheat oven to 425*
Put the Fiber One in a food processor, (or coffee bean grinder) and grind until powdery
Cut up the onion into rings
Dip each ring into Egg Beaters until coated and the dip into Fiber One until coated
Lay them single layer on a cookie sheet and pop into the oven for about 10 minutes or until crispy!

92 calories!!! And this serving ,makes about 15 rings!

You are so welcome. I will have to try this one day.
  • How many onion rings can you have for 92 calories?

What are egg beaters? Can I use a normal egg? Thanks

Egg Beaters are a brand name for egg substitute. It's basically egg whites with food coloring to make it look like eggs. And yes, you can use whole eggs. I never eat egg substitute. There's not that much difference in the calories, eggs are all natural, and they taste worlds better than egg substitute.
