clearing out closet for clothes that are to big

I dropped down to a size medium on top and a size 14 on my bottom. all the clothes in my closet are way to big for me. I saved clothes from way back and put them in the storage shed I knew at some point I would get back down to that size . today is that day for me:) I fit in 4 pairs of size 14 pants, a lot of shirts most are long sleeved though. I will have to shop for t shirts slowly to replace them. it's very encouraging to see that after weighing 250+ pounds and a size 26W and after 2 1/2 years to reach the same size I was as a 10th grader.

great job!!! and maybe some of the sleeves of the long shirts can be cut shorter for spring and summer...cut jersey knit (ie: cotton t shirt fabric) does not even need to be hemmed if u cut neatly with a fabric scissor. cut both sleeves at once to ensure exact symmetry of length

Awesome! I started to clean out my closet a few months ago and get rid of the clothes that were too small. Of course I put off doing that chore and now, after losing weight, I have to still get rid of them, but now because they are too big!!! Wonderful feeling!!

Yes, I'm doing the same thing. I don't have as many things saved, but so glad I do have a few:) It is so weird to get out clothes that I put away for winter, and now they are falling off. I don't feel that much different.

How about you? Do you feel different? Or do you mostly notice it in your clothes?

    Good for you!

I loved getting rid of my clothes as I went thru each size. I started at a 26W also and now wear 10 petite in pants and medium tops. When Fall 2012 rolled around, I had exactly ZERO in my closet but empty hangers on my side!

    Keep up the good work!

Sure is a great feeling, congratulations! I've cleared my closet out twice since August. It's great fun getting rid of those clothes that are too big, but I have to say, it's getting expensive replacing the wardrobe every 3 months! A price I'm willing to pay though.

Congratulations! That is the best feeling filling up those bags. An even better feeling is going shopping knowing that you're no longer limited to just one corner of the store, but have the run of the place. That day will come for you sooner than you think. Keep up the good work.

    Congrats on your losses!!!
My advice? Give those big clothes away to Goodwill or something! I always saved smaller clothes--never the bigger ones. Every time something gets to big, I put it in a bag for the Goodwill truck. Let them go and feel free!!!!
    Wish you continued success!

I actually gave the bags away to the valley merchantile they let you place clothes on a table to sell for 25 cents a piece. since most fit the Pastor's granddaughter I told the owner she can go through them first. (the store owner is her grandma).
