FIguring out serving size

So I've been experimenting and trying out new recipes. I'm having a hard time figuring out serving size, as noted above, because the recipes don't kindly point that out. The current recipe I'm going to be making is Spicy Mushrooms which calls for 3 lbs of mushrooms and other stuff. My issue is how many servings is that and what's a healthy serving? Please help I'm super frustrated.

Best bet, figure out how many servings you have of mushrooms. One serving of mushrooms is about 80g or about 2.8 oz. I would base the servings off of that.

Find the calories for the whole recipe, figure out how many calories you want, divide the total by that to figure out how many servings you can get and then measure either weight or volume of the whole thing and divide by number of servings. That will give you the total volume or weight per serving.

Ex. Soup total calories 1200 You want 200 calories per serving so 6 servings. Total volume is 18 cups. 18/6 is three cups per serving at 200 calories per serving. (approximations of course because the amount of anything in any given 3 cup serving will be slightly different.

If its a recipe from a book or a website, does it not say anywhere "serves 2/4/6"?
