How important is a rest day?

    According to the New Rules of Lifting for Women, rest days are vital (heavy lifting 3x each week). Additionally, between stages (there are 7) the author recommends a week of rest so your muscles have time to fully repair themselves. Giving your muscles time to properly heal protects against potential injury.

    Very important especially if you're strength training/lifting. Your body needs to rest and repair, you put your muscles through a lot in the gym and you don't want to risk injury.

    It's my rest day today and I am CRAVING the gym. Will be there first thing tomorrow that's for sure!!!!!
