Plateau/stalling frustration!

What I don't understand is... (and this is a serious point...) when they put those overweight celebrities in the jungle for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (UK), and feed them on the bare minimum, (sometimes only rice and beans when they lose a task,), they don't plateau! Those that go in obese, or worse, all manage to lose 2 -3 stones in 3 weeks !They're not eating back their exercise, or counting macros, etc.

My body/metabolism seems to adjust to the calories I feed it really quickly, so in the third week I stall, and don't lose anything. In order to kick-start my weight loss I find the Intermittent fasting (5,2) seems to do the trick.

It's really frustrating, cos I'm logging, exercising and drinking plenty of water...

I've never been so determined, so I don't lack motivation.

Grrr....

  • I know what you mean...I went a few weeks with almost no loss at all. I usually eat way less than my allowed calories. I flat out dont believe that if you eat more, you will lose weight. It makes no sense at all. I tried it for 3 days and gained instantly.

Stick with it for a year, and record your weight on a weekly basis...at the end of the year you will be blown away.
  • I have 15 more to lose...if it takes a year thats fine....I figure at least slow loss I will be able to keep it off.

Took me about a year to lose 10lbs. Granted, it was my last 10lbs, so slow going anyway, but for six months straight, I was up and down the same 2-3 lbs constantly. However, during that time, I lost fat and inches, and dropped a full pants size, even though my weight didn't really change.

Grab that measuring tape and a camera, and keep records that way as well, because the scale doesn't always give you the full story, and what seems like a plateau really isn't.
